Our technicians are trained and experienced in the repair and/or replacement of all brands of septic pumps.

With an elevated leach field (drainfield), you would use an effluent pump. Effluent pumps are not the same as a sewage pump. The effluent pump, or “lift pump,” is mounted inside a chamber in your septic tank and pumps graywater up to your drainfield.

These septic pumps are extremely durable. When well-maintained, they will last a considerable amount of time. If not, you will probably need our septic pump repair services at some point.

A failed effluent pump might be a septic system emergency. Your elevated drainfield is higher than the inlet pipe to the septic tank. Sewage can travel backwards into your home. Although to prevent this situation there is a check valve after the pump, your tank will eventually fill and backup. The good news is that most effluent pumps have an alarm that lets you know when the pump is not functioning. If your alarm goes off, call Septic Pumping & Maintenance by Cody Young for service immediately!

Repair or replace? Normally effluent pumps will last about 10-15 years; depending on how hard the pump works to push graywater to your drainfield, and how often your tank fills. It’s normally a more cost effective idea overall though to consider replacing your septic pump if it's nearing the end of its useful life rather than repair it.
